“The logical extension is,” O’Reilly begins a sentance…
October 13, 2009
O’Reilly understands- and uses the phrase “the logical extension is” and yet at no other time (I’ve seen) attacks the essence of any flawed argument?
O’Reilly is so far logical it’s amusing.

SIP call Governor Arnold in California – free home phone service
August 25, 2009
state government to implement VoIP … giving new meaning to direct democracy
http://gov.ca.gov/index.php?/print-version/executive-order/4585/
e.
DGS and DTS shall enable the deployment of Voice over Internet Protocol
(VoIP) technologies that meet the business needs of State Agencies and
improve quality of service provided to California residents.
Within 180 days of the date of this Executive Order [11/28/2006], DGS shall enter
into a contract with one or multiple companies for offering VoIP
services to State Agencies. DTS shall provide technical
consulting and training to State Agencies that elect to use this
contract.
today is well after 180 days past when he issued that executive order
Whereas the document does not mention ‘being reachable via voip’ a
properly implemented voip system will allow anyone to place a SIP call
to an extension in that system.
For more information about setting up your own home voip system for zero dollars see
http://SipSorcery.com or http://pbxes.org
and
^ you’ll get a phone number anyone can call, and it will ring your desk
phone (if you have an ATA) or ring your computer with free soft-phone
software. You can place calls for free via SIP but not free to ‘normal’ phones.
To make free outbound calls you need only surrender your digital soul to google:
http://voice.google.com/
http://gizmovoice.com/
Google profits by knowing you through your use of their “free” services. Google voice has a voicemail transcription service. Google shows contextual ads based on text. Gee, does google as the third party in all your calls record, and transcribe all your conversations to better target market to you? duh. Originating or terminating calls with google is not call between two parties: it’s a threesome with google everytime. icky.
The linksys SPA2102 is perfectly suitable for home or home-office use. For realible, not-free, phone service consider one of

According to Richard Thompson, president of the Thomas More Law Center, you might be a domestic terrorist (American conservative) if you:
- Oppose abortion
- Oppose same-sex marriage
- Oppose restrictions on firearms
- Oppose lax immigration laws
- Oppose the policies of President Obama regarding immigration, citizenship, and the expansion of social programs
- Oppose continuation of free trade agreements
- Are suspect of foreign regimes
- Fear Communist regimes
- Oppose a “one world” government
- Bemoan the decline of U.S. stature in the world
- Are upset with loss of U.S. manufacturing jobs to China and India, and more
Eleven strikes against me! Thank goodness many states have electronic voting: it will be much simpler for them to round up conservative Americans (true Americans) for the domestic internment camps advertised by the army.

Rate My Cop – abuse the public trust receive public exposure
August 20, 2009
abusive cops ought be banned from all public service
Some of the reviews are written by angry cretins caught in the wrong, but the site does serve the public good. One of the better assessments of the site was posted to cnet, electronic review whore, after godaddy illicitly disabled the site:
- …would be troll in the comments about this article who would
say, more or less, “Oh, poor police, we shouldn’t hold them
accountable.” You are, probably, a cop since cops don’t have
friends who aren’t other cops.Cops get what they sign up for. If they give BS, they get back
BS. If they would just step back, take a big breath, realize they
are just like everybody else and start respecting people they
wouldn’t have to worry. Unfortunately, most of the ones I have
had the misfortune of coming into contact with in the last 30
years as a paramedic are egotistical meglomaniacs that think
they are better than everyone else.If a person in any other profession considered everyone they
met a threat to them, as cops do, they would be incarcerated as
paranoid. Not wanting or tolerating public accountability is
another symptom of paranoia. If anything, because of their
behavior, cops I have met should be placed under constant
scrutiny and held accountable for every one of the legion of
dumb, stupid, dangerous and sadistic things they do.Cops are not your friend…

swype swipes a palm PDA innovation: finger as stylus
sure, stylus texting is a little less inconvenient without the stylus, but swype has made no discovery here.
The PDA choices have always been
1) device learn to recognize handwriting — expensive, annoying, and inaccurate
2) person learns PDA shorthand alphabet — inexpensive, easy to learn, as accurate as you are
Swype chooses option two and employs a stylus you are not likely to lose: your finger
